Honorary Awards-Lauren Bacall
Today we talk about one of the people, the performance, exceptional contributions to Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, and outstanding service to the Academy for his life's work. Her name is Lauren Bacall.
Lauren Bacall was a movie star as soon as they learned how to whistle Humphrey Bogart ("You just put your lips together and blow") in "Do and Have Not "(1944), her first film role was in the 20th age your real-life love story headlines around the world and the marriage did nothing to the duo on-screen chemistry in the following pairings such as reducing "The Big Sleep," "Dark Passage" and "Key Largo". Born in New York City to a salesman and a secretary, Bacall was just another pretty girl with high hopes after a year of acting classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She was supported himself with odd jobs and modeling, as they talked their way into the cast of a short-lived Broadway play. Soon after, she asked a friend Harper's Bazaar editor Nicolas de Gunzburg in a nightclub, and he arranged for them to meet Diana Vreeland of the following day. Bacall's sublimely photogenic face was soon to be released in the magazine on a regular Basis. Hollywood came and tested after calling a single screen, the inexperienced actress signed a seven-year agreement with Howard Hawks. In the 1950s, Bacall made Slinky roles in branched Suspense films on lighter fare such as "How to Marry a Millionaire" (1953) and "Designing Woman" (1957). Festival founded as comedic talent, 1965 Bacall took another leap by returning to the stage – this time in a leading role. Long runs very popular productions such as "Cactus Flower" and "Applause" turned the Broadway stage into a second home for Bacall. Back on the big screen in acclaimed films like "Murder on the Orient Express" (1974) and "The Shootist" (1976), conducted with elegant Bacall award. Fascinating turns in memorable films such as "Misery" (1990) and "Dogville" (2003) often have to come over the years.
