Beauty contests for prepubescent girls. is it always the parents who push their daughters do they do?
me and my girlfriend watched Little Miss Sunshine the other night and we were commenting on whether it was always because of parental influence, or if the child would probably get the idea. I think that an 8-year-old girl could be influenced by things they see on TV (beautiful women, etc), things in school, magazines, toys (Choose as that of God or whatever horrible Bratz) things on the street etc and themselves that they wanted to do something like a beauty contest. My girfriend conflict and believes that this kind of influence can only come from the parents, the type of parents you read about in in 'real life' magazines Headlines such as "My 5-year-old wants to be a Glamour Model, and I support it all the way" kinda thing. What do you think? I gave the example, when I i in eight birds, did not come was something that was from my parents, although fair enough to support this healthy interest (in my girlf, this is completely different, and if not valid).
First of all Vickie ~ 4-6 years of call girls "sluts" is not appropriate. Get a grip. I compete in at least a month pageant, sometimes more. I'm 14, but most of the Festival have a wide age range and younger children are included. I have examples of mothers who cry their daughters and scream at them made for not smile or look on the judges long enough seen. Fortunately, these are really in the minority. Most mothers are very supportive their daughters, and proud of them. These girls love the competition and love on stage. In Tx you see a lot of the same girls in the pageant circuit and they become friends. These girls have big ambitions and are intelligently. They do not live their entire existence waiting for the next move. Pageants are the last thing on my Plan. I am a high school cheerleader, professional model and actor and when I have time I have to compete in pageants. Nobody forces me. I have a lot of money and Scholarships, pensions, prices and magnificent crowns won. I know, has a 7 years old, about 75000.00 through competition at the pageant circuit in the last Year made. She moved this year and no longer compete. It is a positive experience for most girls. The mothers you see on the TV documentaries are not the typical Pageant mothers.
