What do you think about the recent "body acceptance" movement?
Ok …. Glamour Magazine enthusiastic readers devote to spread through a photo Models as a vow to present plus size models in various sizes and ethnicites. Shows such as "More to Love" showed that even large sizes to find a right to have Mr. or Mrs. Right. Crystal Renn published only one book about her struggles with anorexia nervosa and overcoming accept that only the Way in which it was made. …. Now considering that we live in a time when obeseity is prevelent, market is saturated, the weight loss drugs with hundreds of miracles, "fat" is round like an obscenity thrown, and so many media that the deplore the idea of being plus size …. do you think that this body acceptance movement is a good Thing or a bad thing? I'm curious to see some answers.
IT has bad sides and good sides. I think its good in the sense that typical Media paints an ideal that women Arent, who was thin as a rail and ridiculed as second class citizens and that they currently earn nothing, or even his life. Obesity; its a vicious circle. Obesity usually goes hand in hand with depression either directly or indirectly. The worse the society makes people feel, for who it is, the become depressed they are, and then eat more food as comfort mechanism. And beyond that … The thing with the media is that it is not the skinny models Focus because they are healthy. These models are just as unhealthy as people who are overweight. It focuses on models that are too thin, because thats the want to portray picture … Its what keeps the industry running. The more people want to look like the models, the more they will spend trying to do this … more Women buy more mags they read the articles look like on * * thus, the more they will buy in diets, the more bland exercise DVDs will buy it, the more diet products they buy, the more they spend will go clothes and make-up, etc, etc, etc. The fashion and media industry will be built, the thinking specifically to make people have to change it, who they are and that they arent a real person that they are good enough to Arent or nothing, unless they buy * *, all this stuff to look like those models. And Fast all these things shall be left to fail to put the person, but want to come back each time more. Almost all of these diets end in failure. Most of these exercise DVDs, including Labeling for beginners, assume the viewer is already in decent shape, but most people are, they arent advertising so that consumers do not but always comes back wanting more with each new promise with each new product. And they keep coming back because they have been socialized to believe they have that might be, and in this way are the only possibilities. This cycle leads to a lot of depression and low self-esteem. What is where I think it is good to the body Acceptance movement to do. Only when people are accepted, as a person, no matter how they look, they will see the self-esteem they need for a healthier Person. Only when the focus changes from how you look, how healthy you are, people will be able to move on and find the courage to be healthy. Only when the focus is education, how to build health instead of a consumer market will never be happy or healthy, we are able to really help people on the purposes of convincing you who are obese are healthy. Its amazing how much sociology of acceptance or rejection, effects a person psychologically. People are social people and thrive and do well they must be social and socially accepted.
