Glamour Magazine Freelance Writers

I want to be a writer, my dream is to work for a magazine, how can I do this?

I graduated from college with a BA in Int'l Studies. I wrote for my high school paper, and at school I have it on / off it is my dream magazine like Glamour or Marie Claire to write for one. I will not how to do make-up tips or something, I want to bring important issues to young people in a fun, fresh way. The thing is, I do not know where to begin should. Does anyone have any ideas? Should I own free and then hope to get a job at a magazine? Thank you! I appreciate it.

I am so in the same Situation! I start tomorrow as a runner for a magazine. You want me to train in any entry-level full-time and move around as soon as something opens. Each work assume you can apply for a magazine. Many publishers promoting from within so if you put on your resume that you are writing, remember that they will, if a Position opened. Writing editorials for magazines to be of help. The bottom line is not even classified. Just because your ultimate goal is to Marie Claire or Glamour work can not mean to start it (I hope for a tech magazine writing, but I'm starting a magazine, Interior Design). Good luck!
