im in year ten and i want to apply for work experience for vogue magazine, i have no idea of what to write in the letter when i apply.
can anyone help me?
treat it like a job application letter Google application letter for lots of examples but don’t just copy someone else’s, you’ll have to sell yourself to people who are experienced in presenting
I’d start by ‘phoning the office and asking for a named person to receive the letter and check the spelling
possible letter structure:
say who you are (e.g. I am a year ten student at xxxx School) and that you are writing to enquire about work experience
explain why you want to work in fashion publishing generally and at Vogue in particular, include any experience you can bring from your studies or activities out of school
close with re-iteration of your intent and how pleased you would be work with them
you’re writing to professional wordsmiths so double check all the spelling and grammar with an experienced adult
enclose a stamped addressed envelope for their reply (say so at the end of the letter)
